Lowe Residence Front Yard of Renovated Historic HomeHistoric La Fayette Square Complete Renovation

The renovation of this beautiful neoclassical style home built in 1916 in the historic Los Angeles neighborhood of La Fayette Square presented a unique opportunity and challenge for the Xlart team.
The historic nature of the home and it’s surrounding neighborhood necessitated fastidious attention to detail in the execution of the exterior work to maintain the original design and character of the home while still fitting it with modern doors and windows and repairing the extensive termite damage. The client and the design team chose to maintain a traditional feel in the interior of the home but with modern features. The existing foyer and living room were left as is only being carefully restored to their former glory. Several rooms and existing additions were combined into a spectacular new open floor plan great room with a spacious kitchen, casual breakfast sitting area, and cozy family living area. An addition to the rear of the home allowed the creation a new bathroom, laundry room and new stairway to the maid’s room

Testimonial

After our purchase of a 1916 Neo-Classical Style home we panicked. The home had been in ill repair for a number of years suffering from termite infection and water damage, and all around neglect. The elderly occupants had been unable to make necessary repairs and the evidence of the disrepairs was obvious from the curbside to the back door. When Noam Halpert of the The XLart Group, began to develop a design for our renovation we knew immediately, that she could make changes and improve the property without compromising the integrity and style of the original structure. After the plans were approved, which required design, engineering, permits, and lots of coordination we set out on a 2 year journey. And we became a family. The XLart Group took a mere vision and created our dream home. With breathe taking design and style our home is our hearts haven. We never imagined beyond our farthest reach that The XLart Group would make our dream a reality. Perfect craftsmanship and meticulous details are what can be expected when The XLart Group is involved. Our completed project is the “Jewel of our neighborhood, La Fayette Square”!
